Immediate Requirement for an experienced Oracle DBA

One of our clients is a leading company within the funds industry; they have an immediate requirement for an experienced Oracle DBA for a 6 month contract based in the West of Ireland. This role may require some travel to other sites throughout Ireland.
- Some responsibilities of the Oracle DBA
- Write consistent, reliable, maintainable and preferment code and have a strong background in Oracle database development.
- Take ownership for the design and development of elements of the system and facilitate necessary review sessions
- This delivery oriented candidate must be able to respond to rapid change working in a fast paced Agile environment and demonstrate exceptional problem solving skills while producing value added results.
- Proactively communicate with QA, developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to project implementation
- Will be required to provide accurate and timely status reporting with Manager, including issues prohibiting progress when appropriate
The Oracle DBA shall have the following experience
- 4-5 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
- Expertise in data analysis and excellent debugging skills
- SQL performance tuning
- Designing the appropriate data access layer for Real Time and batch applications
- Performance tuning and performance-led design highly desirable
- Comfortable with multiple database concepts, ie RDBMS, OODB, ODS, Warehouse
- Experience in using PL/SQL
- Familiarity with logical data modelling and relational database design
- Experience in working with source control systems (preferably Clearcase)
- Experience in working in UNIX environment.
- Experience working with project teams located in multiple geographic locations.
- Experience in delivering projects using Agile methodology.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong client focus and results orientation
Initially a 6 month contract, however there is a high possibility of extending beyond.
