UNIX Infrastructure Engineer - Investment Bank - Hong Kong
My client a top tier investment bank has a need for an experienced UNIX Infrastructure Engineer to be an integral part of a busy IT infrastructure team.
The UNIX Infrastructure Engineer's role is to act as a technical expert for migration efforts seeking to replace Legacy server infrastructure with compliant hardware and operating systems. This individual will support planning and execution of the migration and provide operational support subsequently until the application is considered stable in its new environment and handed over to BAU production operations teams.
Previous Experience:-
*Strong working knowledge and subject matter expertise in at least one of the following disciplines:- UNIX (Linux), Networks/Firewalls, RDBMS, Storage, Messaging/Middleware, Market Data with relevant experience in the rest
*Knowledge of Design & Build, Multi-tier architectures and engineering best practices
*Strong communication and presentation skills
*Problem solving skills eg ability to lead root cause analysis, recognise and rescue a project in trouble; ability and willingness to escalate when milestones are missed or jeopardised
*Knowledge of SDLC and development framework, eg Agile
*Working knowledge of a project management methodology, stages and risk mitigation
