Description
Our client is a leading global developer of financial software solutions. An indigenous Irish company that has grown year on year and is now world leader in its field, it has made significant new sales contracts in 2011 that are now entering the delivery phase. Many of these are in new business areas and require the building new software solutions from the ground up.
A senior and highly skilled quality assurance consultant is required to join the team, initially for a short contract to end March 2012. The consultant will be capable of quickly assuming a lead role, taking full responsibility for test projects, whilst having a hands-on role in the testing process itself.
Work as a lead member of the team, to deliver robust, user-friendly, quality software.
Specific tasks will include:
- Providing mentoring and guidance to other team members
- Liaising with the development teams to ensure adherence to quality during the development process
- Assist with planning and managing the team workload, including providing work estimates, and delivering to these estimates
- Software Testing based on industry best practise and experience
- Preparing test plans
- Executing tests in a platform/enterprise software environment
- Responsible for the production of quality documentation to support the quality process.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years software testing experience, more recently at a senior QA level is essential.
- A working knowledge is required in Relational databases/ANSI SQL (Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server), industry recognised testing methodologies, the software development process, automated software testing tools.
- Experience in the end user testing of enterprise Thin Client software applications, a relevant third level qualification, financial business experience are desirable.
