Description
Our client is looking for a Unix Systems Engineer for a long term project based in Brussels, Belgium.
This role includes operational acceptance responsibilities such as installation, configuration, monitoring, setting up performance tests, back up tests, security and sanity checks. There are also some responsibilities of a 2nd line incident manager, problem manager, release manager, change manager and configuration manager.
The ideal candidate should be results driven and be able to work effectively in a team as well as individually. The role requires in depth knowledge of:
- Linux-Unix OS
- TCP/IP
- Shell Scripting
- JBoss
- Apache
- XML/XSL
- Database knowledge
Python, Perl, Java, C, C++ or MS SQL is seen as an asset for this position. Communication skills in English, French and Dutch are a must.
