Job Description - User Experience Design Consultant

We have an immediate requirement for an experienced hands on User Experience Design Consultant within our consulting team based in Abu Dhabi, to create interface designs and patterns that support a standard experience across multiple web properties.
Position Summary:
- Under the guidance of the lead designer this person will be responsible for the creation of interface designs and patterns that support a standard experience across NYUAD's multiple web properties.
- Working with business analysts, project owners and developers they will need to gain an understanding of requirements and suggest creative interfaces, features, and applications to solve business needs.
- This person will be responsible for creating standard documentation/templates for user personas, scenarios, use cases, wireframes/user flow diagramming.
- Once in place, they will manage the schedules and deliverables for user personas, scenarios, use cases, wireframes/user flow diagramming, and final user interface designs.
- It is imperative that this person maintains an awareness of new technologies and standards, suggesting and prototyping new and innovative user interactions to improve the online experience of the business.
Related Technical Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
- 5+ years designing content driven web sites from concept through completion.
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with CSS and HTML
- Strong communications skills; flexibility to working on multiple projects at the same time
Preferred Skills
- Experience working within an Agile development environment, and using analytics and usability tests to understand impact of design changes
- Experience designing for mobile/tablet interfaces
- Experience working in a university or educational environment
Education and Experience
- Degree in a relevant subject is desired however industry experience and achievement will be taken into consideration in lieu of academic achievement
- Demonstrated ability to analyze a complex application/spec and transform the design to make it simple and easy to use
- A strong, user-centered design ethos and to ability to explain and defend design choices
Core Competencies
As a customer facing role in a professional services team this individual will be expected to have strong communication skills across all levels in the business with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to which, they will be able to perform both in a stand-alone role as well as with a team.
Whilst a global organisation this is an English speaking environment, additional languages such as Arabic will be an advantage but it not necessary for success in the role.
As a representative of Intergence Systems this individual will be seconded to the end customer environment, it is imperative that a high level of professionalism is observed at all times and that Intergence and customer process are observed.
