Description
Velossent has an urgent need for an experienced VMWare Consultant for a large project converting an older physical data center environment to a new, fully virtualized one. This role will involve working with the infrastructure manager and external consultants through the design and implementation of the new environment.
As the current data centers are located out of state, there will be some travel involved initially for requirements gathering, but most of the work will be performed here in Atlanta.
Requirements for the role include:
- 7+ years experience as a systems engineer (Linux or Microsoft)
- 4+ years experience managing Virtualization projects with VMWare, NetApp and Cisco products
- 4+ years technical experience with VMWare (Design, migration and implementation)
- Understand new technology concepts quickly and assist others in understanding.
- VMware current certifications, VCP on VI3/vSphere required, Certifications on other virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, Xen) is a plus
- Virtualization specialty certifications, Lab Manager, Site Recovery Manager, VDI (View), Life Cycle Automation, are a plus
- 3+ years hands on experience with one or more of the following: Linux, Windows or Solaris
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Preferred Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field
