The Role:
This role is part of Corporate Banking Division Executive Decision Support. It includes all aspects of Decision Support, providing a first class service to the business.

This role is responsible for supporting the financial and management information requirements of the CEO and his Executive Committee, Group Finance and also supporting the underlying Businesses. This role is a temporary backfill position to cover subject matter experts spending time on a specific Project, and therefore we are looking for individuals coming in to be flexible in working across the teams within CBD EDS: Budgeting, Reporting & Analysis, Chief Operating Office Finance and Cost Allocations team.

Generally, these roles would be expected to provide detailed analysis to assist performance management and take a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Key responsibilities include:
* Provide detailed analysis to assist performance management (monthly reporting and budgeting/forecasting) and take a proactive approach to resolving issues
* Effective and timely production of key financial & business reporting and analysis on month-end results, highlighting key performance drivers along with explanation of variances and commentary to enable effective decision-making.
* Undertake and improve monthly processes whilst enhancing content of analysis and reporting
* Support the quarterly budgeting/forecasting process
* Support development of relevant, reliable and timely ad hoc financial and commercial analysis
* Support the business on ad hoc projects as required
* Maintain and develop expertise and contacts

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

* Qualified accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA) with 5 years business experience
* Some technical knowledge, including preparation of accounts under IAS
* Knowledge of banking products would be an advantage but is not essential
* PC literacy, including strong excel skills and some Powerpoint ability
* Experience in producing various reporting packs for senior management, with clear and concise commentary
* Self motivated with a flexible approach and the ability to work to strict deadlines
Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
* Knowledge of Walker (general ledger), Khalix (financial reporting/budgeting tool)
* Some experience of a project environment with multiple deliverables
