The Job:

Outsource UK are actively seeking to recruit a Scheduler for their financial services client who they work with on a first tier supplier basis.

As the Scheduler you will be required to produce, control and maintain the daily production schedules across all platforms (manual and automated) to ensure that agreed SLAs are achieved.

Responsibilities:

Working as a Scheduler on within the scheduling team, the role holder will be required to undertake a variety of tasks including:

  • Create and maintain daily production schedule eg update to reflect additional activities from month end or quarter end to ensure integrity and security to the schedule.
  • Update the daily production schedule to enable the implementation of ad-hoc changes or additional requests to the production schedule.
  • Review daily schedule to ensure completion of tasks and re-schedule outstanding tasks.
  • Update and maintain production schedule to support contingency trials and the disaster recovery execution process.
  • Evaluate the potential impact of proposed changes to the schedule and communicate changes as required.
  • Liaise with relevant parties (eg ISBAN) over changes to the production schedule to ensure that system users are aware of the impact of these changes.
  • Provide advice and guidance on scheduling facilities and requirements as required.
  • Carry out any additional activities as required within Scheduling Team.

Skills Required:

Essential

  • 3+ years' experience of scheduling on a variety of Mainframe/Unix and Windows platforms.
  • Highly proficient using ControlM on a variety of platforms.
  • Ideally a good working knowledge of OPC on MVS.
  • Proven and demonstrable knowledge of JCL on MVS.
  • Proven and demonstrable knowledge of batch scripts on Unix and Windows environments.
  • Proven analytical & fault finding skills
  • Influencing and Communication Skills

Desirable

  • Competent knowledge of DB2
  • Connect Direct
  • Competent knowledge of FTP
