Media Relations Manager- Campaigns, PR, Communications, Government experience

Spring Technology currently require a Media Relations Manager for our Central Government client based in London. Candidates are asked to provide their own rates.

Previous experience of working in a Government department is essential.

Media duties:
-Ensure that the work is clearly understood by media through phone, face to face and written contact
-Create and implement media engagement plans to maximise positive coverage, including
odeveloping communications plans, setting clear milestones and managing the delivery of a project or a workstrand in order to meet such milestones
-identifying which press materials are needed - such as press releases, QA, briefing sheets
-providing quality assurance throughout a project including all media materials are factually correct and have been cleared and approved to deadline
-proactively identifying and managing reputational risks and opportunities regarding a project and taking appropriate action to mitigate such risks, and maximise opportunities

-Advise senior colleagues on media strategies appropriate to their work or project.
-Develop and implement strategies for raising awareness of issues and campaigns
-Work closely in partnership with Communications colleagues to deliver effective PR for campaigns.
-Maintain and further develop mature and trusting relationships with the media including regular catch-ups with existing and new contacts
-Provide timely and appropriate media monitoring to senior staff on a regular basis
-Sharing out of hours press office cover

Wider duties:
-Deliver strategic communications through working closely with other colleagues in the external relations team and wider communications team to ensure a joined up approach to the management of issues
-Strategic communications advice to policy and enforcement teams around the office
-Support the stakeholder strategy and organise events and roundtables as required
-Contribute to speech writing and briefings as required
-Jointly responsible with other press officers for maintaining and develop the digital media strategy
-Contribute to the development of systems, processes and protocols appropriate to the functioning of a highly effective external relations team
