One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a IT security engineer/cryptography expert for an initial 6 months contract based in Brussels. The rates are currently negotiable.

Skills and Experience:

  • Hands on knowledge of cryptographic technologies, network and web related protocols,
  • including but not limited to TLS/SSL, IPSEC, HTTPS, AES, DES, XML, PGP, S/MIME, encryption and signatures.
  • Detailed knowledge of PKI, its operation and use;
    ability to decompose a system or architecture to identify key security services which may be provided by cryptographic mechanisms
    ability to synthesize complex cryptographic subjects and communicate them to non-experts
  • Knowledge of threat modelling or other risk identification techniques
  • Advanced understanding of fundamental information security concepts, including authentication, authorization, access control, and auditing;
  • Detailed technical knowledge of encryption related operational processes, including certificate life cycle management, key management, and key distribution
  • Thorough understanding of standards based approach and use (ISO, NIST, FIPS, etc)
  • Understanding of systems development life cycle
  • Solid experience and technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
  • Working knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus (not mandatory).

Duties:

  • Provide expert technical advice and consultancy to internal customers (architects, system engineers and developers) in the identification and definition of security services and the appropriate use of cryptography to provide these services;
  • Participate in security compliance efforts (eg, PCIDSS)
  • Develop and provide training materials for general understanding of cryptography and its key attributes and specific security implantation within defined domains
  • Work with security architects to provide 2nd line support ensuring full key management life cycles are included within architecture definitions
