Z Services Manager - IBM z/OS Mainframe, v1.11, z/VM, z-Linux, CICS v4.1, DB2 v8.1, CA-Datacom
A leading blue chip with a reputation for excellence is looking for a Z Service Manager to join their team on a contract basis.
Skills/Experience
- Significant experience to lead, coach and motivate colleagues supporting the installation, maintenance and customisation of software in an IBM z/OS Mainframe environment. (Technologies include: z/OS v1.11, z/VM, z-Linux, CICS v4.1, DB2 v8.1, CA-Datacom, Objectstar, DB2 Connect)
- Experience of leading and managing IT Operations technical service functions in the finance sector
- Strong technical awareness of emerging infrastructure, tools and processes in the market place, especially Mainframe technologies
- Good understanding and application of project management processes/procedures
- Good knowledge of the application of Service Management processes, in particular ITIL
- Service focussed and able to manage issues and obstacles proactively, innovative in overcoming problems
- Good knowledge of industry standards, policies and best practices, to support infrastructure security and reduction of risk
- Good leadership and people management skills and an ability to build, recruit and develop high performing teams
- Strong forecasting, resource management and recruitment skills to provide a consistent level of excellent service for constantly changing requirements
- Strong knowledge of the IT market place - technologies, emerging trends and latest developments, third party offerings, competitor strategies and current issues facing the IT industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships across IT
- Resilience and ability to cope with pressure and demands of an operational role
- Financial management experience Commercial experience through the management of contracts with third party hardware/software/IT services providers
