Title: Capital Markets C#/.Net/VSTO/Excel Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Type: Contract
Duration: 10 months
Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a Capital Markets Developer. Candidates will be responsible for development of capital market applications supporting the Fixed Income and derivative trading businesses within a development team for our client in Charlotte, NC. The position will be responsible for tasks related to architecture, design, development and testing of C#/.NET based Windows components that utilize Microsoft Excel as the primary user interface to support Front/Middle Office trading. Provide resolution to an assortment of complex design and coding challenges. Providing technical support for in-house built and third-party sourced systems

The candidates must also show characteristics including strong work ethic, leadership, attention to detail, assertiveness and initiative. Developers follow established software development life cycle, guidelines and procedures.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Mandatory Skills:
Strong understanding of Microsoft .NET APIs and associated technology with a minimum of 5 years C# development experience
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio
Strong working knowledge of the .NET 4.0 Framework Class Library
Strong working knowledge of XML and consuming Web Services
Strong understanding of multiple threads of execution
Strong working knowledge of Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) - particularly for Excel
Working knowledge of Excel and it's object model
Experience with Windows Forms and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
Good working knowledge of SQL, ODBC, and ADO.NET
Good understanding of the object-oriented paradigm and proper class design
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Experience in Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, especially Agile methodologies
Be proactive, a problem solver and work with minimum supervision when given a goal
Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills and a highly professional attitude are essential
Nice to have:
Candidates who have experience with Capital Markets products (Fixed Income securities, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX), Trading systems and environments, and Middle/Back Office processes are preferred
Experience with TIBCO Enterprise Message Service (EMS) or TIBCO Rendezvous (RV)
Understanding of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Experience with Perforce SCM
