JOB SUMMARY
The ETL Developer holds responsibility for designing, building, testing, maintaining, documenting and adapting the data flow among various business systems.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing and understanding the business and data requirements of the various source and destination systems involved in enterprise ETL
- Supporting the identification of source and destination data sets
- Supporting the data-mapping of source and destination data sets
- Developing the specification for the extraction, translation, and loading of source and destination data sets
- Developing the extract, translate, and load code and scripts according to the developed specs
- Performing unit and system testing of ETL code and scripts
- Assisting in the efforts to optimize the performance of applications, systems, and databases
- Experience working with business and IT users/owners/subject matter experts and management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used in designing, testing, documenting & maintaining ETL code.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used in designing, testing, documenting & maintaining Enterprise Data Warehouses.
- BS/MS in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent, or equivalent experience in ETL Engineering
- 5+ years of practical experience with RDBMS and SQL (MSSQL preferred)
- 5+ years of practical programming or Scripting experience (Java preferred)
- 3+ years of practical experience with Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence (SSRS preferred)
- 3+ years of practical experience with ETL Tools (Talend preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
