Job description/Overall position description with general areas of responsibility listed:
Project Manager for IT Transformation projects.

Reporting to Program Manager for Service Desk Transformation.
Project Manager will work with our outsourcing vendor (HP) to define the transformation plan, work packages and deliverables to deliver a standard set of tools and processes to support the new Service Desk provided by HP.
Reporting to the Service Desk Programme Manager, the Project Manager will take primary responsibility for the overall management of designated project(s) within the global IT Transformation Programme and will be the main contact for project service delivery. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of robust solutions.
The IT Transformation Programme is a major initiative that will standardize and modernize our IT services globally, working closely with our outsourcing partner HP.
Project Managers are responsible for managing all aspects of a defined project, which may relate to a single product or part of a product, depending on size and complexity.
Their primary focus is the planning and management of the key project activities and resources across specific phases or groups of phases of the project life cycle, within budget and to agreed timeframes and Service Delivery standards.

Specific Tasks to be performed during the engagement/Key Deliverables/Milestones:
Build, develop, manage and drive a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and potential third party contractors and suppliers, some of whom may be based off-shore
Ensure project management approach is compliant with IT project management methodology
Produce detailed project plans and schedules for all major activities,
regularly monitoring and reporting progress
Ensure all project activities and deliverables meet the agreed timescales and budget
Ensure that project staff adopt and employ best project management practices
Proactively identify areas of risk/potential issues/problems and put plans into place to manage and control these and to achieve workable solutions
Ensure the project deliverables are appropriate for their purpose and comply with IT standards
Establish proactive partnerships with all key contact groups, which are influential and positive
Communicate progress and plans at appropriate levels of detail to all involved groups
Work as part of the wider project team within IT, contributing to the success of the overall Program organization by ensuring that those components under his/her own direct responsibility meet the wider requirements and timescales
Supports and reflects company commitment to quality accreditation, environmental consciousness and a safe work environment

Module/technical skills required:
What development tools methodologies are to be used?:

Internationally recognized Project Management certification (PRINCE 2 preferred)
ITIL Certification or minimum demonstrable ITIL awareness

Must have/mandatory skills:
Good critical reasoning and problem solving skills
Ideally PEX Academy Green Belt trained, equivalent external Green belt certification or ability to attain certification if required
Demonstrable ability to lead and manage successful large IT projects and teams to successful implementation and project closure
Demonstrable ability to deliver on quality, on time on budget.
Extensive knowledge of programme & project management; Competent with Process Excellence Improvement Model and familiar with IT Project Management methodology
Strong understanding and experience with key IT disciplines within IT
Effective written and verbal communicator in clear English
Sense of urgency (schedule driven)
Creative thinking
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to use their initiative.
Conscientious attitude with ability to multitask.
Enjoys working with systems but is persuasive and diplomatic with people at all levels.
A self-starter with the ability to delegate detail whilst keeping a clear view of the big picture.
Good critical reasoning and problem solving skills - sticks at the problem until it is resolved.
Thick-skinned, with constant chasing up of tasks and willingness to escalate unresolved issues
Internationally recognized Project Management certification (PRINCE 2 preferred)
ITIL Certification or minimum demonstrable ITIL awareness
University degree highly regarded
Demonstrated success of leading and delivering large cross functional Projects (Prince 2 preferred) with large multi-location teams
Demonstrated success in applying Process Improvement tools and controls to IT
Strong communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all organization levels
Ability to deliver organizational change programmes
Years of specific Experience with reference to Mandatory skills: 7+
