Our Irving, TX Client is seeking a Report Writer for a 6 Month Contract to hire position.
Major Responsibilities:
Execute ad-hoc data analyses to support various data needs from internal and external HR requests.
Develop and publish important HR reporting requirements using Cognos, SQL and Microsoft SSRS.
Write select statements against SQL database.
Design and develop reports, scorecards and dashboards.
Gather and document reporting requirements from end users, then develop reports, dashboards or scorecards as needed
Analyze data to identify anomalies and/or trends that will aid in driving key HR initiatives linked to business goals.
Educate and advise internal clients on how to leverage available data, reports, and tools.
Requirements:
2+ years experience in analytical activity
3 5 years of SQL experience (must be able to write reports and be proficient in SQL queries and Transact SQL)
Deep understanding of relational database including data modelling and table structure.
Strong database development skills using Microsoft Transact-SQL (tables, views, stored procedures)
Candidate must be proficient in reporting using SSRS and querying relational databases
Candidate must be proficient in reporting using MS Access, advanced MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLookups.
Must have knowledge or exposure to SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, MS Analysis Services
Proficiency with Cognos 8 report writing is highly desired.
Experience with UltiPro data is highly desired.
Data mining experience is a plus.

It is important that the candidate possess the ability to interact with internal and external customers and operations teams and be a strong analytical thinker with the ability to frame and execute analytics around business questions. Candidate must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
