Title: Cloud Software Automation Developer

Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of cable and telecom services, has an immediate need for an individual to contribute to a number of automation-related initiatives in Andover, MA. Specifically, client is in the process of implementing automation around system provisioning process, currently including the use of the Opscode Chef Cloud Automation product. This individual would be expected to hit the ground running in the implementation of Chef cookbooks and associated Ruby development, and have a mixed systems management and development background. Familiarity and comfort working in a Agile-type environment, with an automation mindset is a must.
Required Skills:
Strong Linux/UNIX experience.
2+ years experience in systems engineering/administration.
Understanding of configuration management tools and principles.
Familiarity using Chef as an automation tool.
Experience in dynamic/interpreted programming languages (Shell/Ruby/Perl/Python).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Desired Experience:
Familiarity with common web service infrastructure: Apache/JBoss/WebSphere/Oracle/MySQL.
Familiarity with deployment patterns of the following technologies: Chef, Ruby, Git.
REST/WS and User Interface development.
