Description
An exciting opportunity is currently available for a Computational Linguistics Expert in Alicante Spain. This position is located in the Public Sector through an IT Services Company.
Tasks:
- Identify, capture and refine the business requirements, and possible solutions based on an understanding of the following:
- trademark and design processes
- linguistics (with emphasis on semantics, pragmatics and syntax of Goods and Services vocabularies)
- to exploit linguistic potentials to rationalize the applications portfolio and databases to gain greater levels of efficiency, quality and decision making consistency
Required education & experience:
- have a minimum level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma in computer science, computational linguistics or a related technical field
- have at least 6 years of experience in a management or advisory function and at least 2 years of specialisation in the area of applied computational linguistics.
Technical skills:
- The candidates must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the application of linguistic methods in general and specifically to Goods and Services recognition, translation or comparison.
- Thorough understanding of the business domain and in particular the semantics, pragmatics and syntax of Goods and Services taxonomies and their utilization within the trademark and design registration process.
- IT project execution skills paired with deep technical understanding of IT systems (particularly databases) proven by professional experience gained in all life cycle phases.
The following criteria will constitute advantages:
- experience with business process models and knowledge management systems having excellent command of the corresponding formal notations
- experience in issue tracking
- knowledge and experience in working with statistical tools
- knowledge of project management methodologies such as ITIL, Prince 2 or IIST
- experience in the migration Legacy systems
Optional specific expertise:
- Grails/Groovy
- Java/J2EE
- MySQL, Hibernate
- Linux
Language skills:
Have a thorough knowledge of English and have a satisfactory knowledge of a second language of
the EU. Knowledge of other language(s) of the Office (the languages of the Office are Spanish,
German, English, French and Italian) will be an advantage.
