OBIEE Engineer
Responsibilities:
The OBIEE Engineer will analyze all aspects of the utilization of the Business Intelligence tool within the company, and will recommend overall changes to both the infrastructure and application components that will best serve the user community. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that reporting data is accurate, timely, and easily accessible to support key business decisions.
Skills:
- Understands the technical architecture required for OBIEE and recommends infrastructure that supports the operation of the software.
- Designs and develops analytic and reporting solutions utilizing Oracle's technical stack, such as Oracle E-business Suite and OBIEE.
- Defines the roles and security levels within OBIEE that allows for the appropriate separation of duties.
- Understands dashboard concepts and utilizes knowledge for executive reporting.
- Makes recommendations for data warehousing and determines if/when to implement.
- Prepares and provides OBIEE training to the line of business for producing ad hoc reports.
- Defines process for maintaining and supporting OBIEE on an ongoing basis.
- Provides full system documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 7 years of technical experience in designing, deploying, and upgrading OBIEE and decision support systems. Must have hands on experience utilizing the OBIEE tool.
- Significant experience with BI Publisher and Oracle Database 10g or higher.
- Must be able to perform technical tasks such as data modelling, BI application specification, application modelling, construction, customization, performance optimization, technical product assistance, tuning/optimization, and deployment support
Experience developing dashboards and reports at the executive level.
- Strong communication skills.
- Exceptional analysis and problem solving abilities.
- Project management skills, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Must be able to function independently and interface professionally with all levels of management and other groups.
- Experience with Oracle E-business Suite (EBS) 11i/R12 is preferred. Knowledge in the following modules is ideal: AP, AR, GL, FA, Purchasing, Inventory, Projects, eAM.
