Description
This Dallas-based industry leader has an immediate 18 month contract opening for a Sr. Oracle Development DBA/Data Modeler. Must be someone who can work with the application Teams through requirements gathering, design and physicalize the database entities to support the requirements on Oracle. The key responsibilities include data architecture, ERwin, Data Modeling, Creating tables, and Performance Tuning. Must have experience supporting Oracle databases and know how to performance tune an application. Development DBAs on this Team are about 50% Data Architecture and 50% data administration (build new databases, import/export, environment refresh, patch, etc.). Will be responsible for designing, modelling, configuring, testing, and installing databases. Will document database backup, recovery, capacity, and security plans. Will administer, maintain, and implement changes to existing databases to meet Customer requirements. Will respond to test and production database problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas. Will implement moderately complex changes to existing databases, and will implement physical data models at a project level. Will create, document, administer, and document database backup and recovery plans, capacity plans and security plans to meet project requirements. Will assist less senior DBAs when testing new product and database engine releases to ensure features and functions are acceptable. Will ensure integration across systems software and platforms. Will be expected to use database/system management tools proficiently. Will monitor and tune existing databases of medium complexity and moderate business exposure. Will investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems. Will develop volume and cost estimates.
Required Experience:
- 3+ years experience with Oracle Data Architecture, Data Modeling, ERwin, Data Design, Creating Tables, and Performance Tuning.
- Prior experience as an Application DBA working with Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g databases.
