Description
A Leading Life and Pensions Organisation is looking to recruit a senior Project Manager to lead on strategic, large, complex projects and programmes and organisational change initiatives with ultimate responsibility for ensuring that these deliver on time, within budget and achieve all objectives. The successful applicant will be expected to ensure that all project elements required are planned, captured, scoped, priced, negotiated and delivered efficiently and effectively and in a compliant manner. Project responsibility for delivery of benefits to the bottom line, typically in excess of £500k p.a. Direct control for project costs in excess of £1m, and potentially programmes up to £20m.
As a natural relationship builder, equipped with the vision and purpose to dive organisational change, you must have substantial and successful experience in the management and completion of complex, high risk and high value projects/multi-project programmes from inception to conclusion. Able to demonstrate a high level of business acumen, your excellent project management, planning and organisational skills - based on a firm understanding of multiple project management methods - will be complemented by a proven ability to mentor and coach project managers in modern methodologies and techniques.
The successful applicant must demonstrate:
Recent experience working for a Life & Pensions Organisation
8 years multi-discipline experience, preferably multi-organisation.
Management of complex and high risk, high value projects.
Management of multi-project programmes from inception to conclusion.
Excellent project management, planning and organising skills based on understanding of multiple project management methods.
Strong business acumen.
Solid approach/understanding to the delivery and tracking of project benefits.
Able to define challenging objectives and achieve them.
Relationship building at all levels up to and including board level.
Vision and purpose to drive organisational change.
Ability to mentor and coach Project Managers in project and programme management techniques.
Excellent written, oral, presentation and facilitation skills.
Knowledge and experience of programme management methodologies.
