This large government organisation is looking for an experience Program Officer with a strong PMO Quality and Assurance background to work within this high profile portfolio of work. In this position you will required to assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of project and program management policy and procedures. This is an initial contract through to 30 June 2012 based in the CBD.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement a quality assurance framework, comprising strategies, policies, standards and methods to support the delivery of the Program of Work
  • Develop and implement quality management tools and templates
  • Provide professional, authoritative and timely strategic advice to senior management on issues of a complex nature pertaining to program and project quality management.
  • Assist in the development and management of the implementation of policies and procedures to maximize program and project performance delivery.
  • Provide visible and consistent program and project management leadership, direction and focus across the department.
  • Maintain current knowledge of formulate responses to emerging trends in project and program management methodologies within Queensland government and the private sector.
  • Ensure best practice frameworks and processes are delivered within the department through high-level consultation with and influencing of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Formulate and prepare proposals, recommendations, submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature and negotiate recommendations at Senior Executive level on policies and procedures as they relate to program management.
  • Provide high-level timely, accurate and consolidated program reporting that provides visibility of the program's status, dependencies, issues and risks.

The position reports into the Director and has 7 HR and Financial reports

The role would suit someone that has a detailed understanding of Queensland Government program and project management templates, frameworks and methodologies such as Prince 2 2 and detailed understanding of program and project risk management principles and concepts in a complex ICT environment.
