Link Technologies is looking for a Windows Engineer for a long term contract position in Bethesda, MD. Windows Server Engineer (junior-to-mid-level) needed to monitor and maintain 50 Servers and associated workstations. Engineer will conduct routine maintenance/upgrades, create automatic updates to anti-virus software, and document processes according to strict guidelines. Duties

  • Patching Coordinator is needed
  • Patching plan needs to be put is place, and it has to be documented and communicated
  • Delegate specific patching duties to members of the group
  • Create Server DB (Maybe in Lotus Notes) to identify assets
  • Generate patching verification procedures
  • Create change events to notify lines of business of the outages
  • Create broadcast events for changes
  • Updates patch log spreadsheet. (Present log is outdate and confusing.)
  • Ensure to get GE/NERC Compliance to be on same page
  • Generate Eicar.txt file for testing
  • Perform Cyber Security Testing on each type of platform
  • Patching has to be performed each month. (Not when time permits.)
  • Virus definition downloads every 4 hours instead of once a week.
  • Generate WSUS Product Classifications
  • Generate WSUS reports
  • Generate e-mail notifications on Security Updates arrivals
