Description

You will be supporting around 2000 Servers (Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008) and the environment is complex and hybrid: Multi-forest, multi-domain, DMZ, SAN and linked with other platforms including Mainframe, UNIX and networking elements.

As Windows Server Support Engineer you will be responsible for incident management, 2nd level Windows Server Support and troubleshooting, Onsite Watch Duty, Problem Management including investigation, analysis, follow-up and problem solving. You will also manage file and print Servers, manage DNS, and be responsible for daily control of incidents, requests, problems and change requests (ITIL). You will document tasks, activities, problems and solutions and assist projects.

Skills required:

  • Broad knowledge of Windows - clustering, netowkr knowledge, storage (will get some storage training)
  • Tivoli, Tivoli monitoring, McAfee amplifier (advantageous)
  • Able to communicate clearly with various stakeholders
  • Able to be flexible with working between two offices (in close proximity)
  • Able to work in a structured and procedural environment using Lean principles
  • Several years experience in managing, supporting and troubleshooting Windows Servers (Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008)
  • Windows Server product knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, File, Print, Backup and Restore
  • Knowledge of Windows clustering and Servers hardware technology (HP ideally)
  • DMZ environment experience, HP Servers, SAN and Virtualisation
  • Troubleshooting TCP/IP, subnetting etc
  • CIM/CSP, TSM, HLB, terminal services and remote access
  • English speaking, Dutch or French speaking an advantage
