Financial Report Analyst - Phoenix, AZ
Under minimal supervision, operates within the Finance Department to design, develop and deploy multi-dimensional reports using the Cognos Business Intelligence and Visual Mining Business solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the preparation, distribution and maintenance of the monthly standard company financial and project reports. Design and produce reports regarding current projects with accompanying budget and management information using Cognos Reporting and Excel.
- Produce special reports for executives on hours and operating performance as requested using Cognos Reporting.
- Create, enhance and maintain Framework Manager Models to support business requirements.
- Work with business users to design and develop reports using Cognos Report Studio with data drill down and slice and dice options.
- Design and develop complicated reports including sub-reports, graphical reports and well-formatted reports according user requirements.
- Query and extract data from various databases, using various tools and SQL, and with an understanding of broad data content available and specific table structures.
- Assist with creating efficient data processes, including data coding, warehousing, and logistics, to allow for long-term efficient operations.
- Analyze project and company financial information and make recommendations.
- Ability to read and understand contracts with minimal help to setup projects in Costpoint Accounting System.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 year of applicable work experience ideally in programming, data logistics, user support, and data architecture development.
- Advanced Cognos Report writing skills required.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel.
- Create and manipulate Pivot tables
- Must know different formula usages in excel
- Knowledge in creating macros & VB coding a plus
- Must know Microsoft Query
- Strong understanding of relational database knowledge such as master Data design, Table, Field, Indexes, Join types, etc.
- SQL Experience highly desired.
- Previous experience with Deltek or Costpoint accounting systems a plus.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and provide excellent customer service.
