Our client requires the services of a Senior Consultant, to collaborate with the senior I&IT leadership team and the CIO to develop and implement a set of internal controls based on industry best practices and specifically designed and right-sized for the Client.

Required qualifications and experience:

Experience: 20 years minimum

University degree in one of Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration Business Administration. Certification in the Enterprise IT Governance (CGEIT).

MBA or an accounting designation would be an asset. Other certifications which would be an asset include:

a) Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISM)

b) Certified in Risk and Information Security Control (CRISC)

c) Project Management (PMP, PgMP, Master Pm, Prince2)

d) ITIL, Six Sigma, CMMi, COBIT, or other IT-related discipline

15+ years of overall IT experience working in a technical environment in banking, telecom, major retail, or provincial/federal government at the most senior levels. Demonstrated technical leadership in IT governance activities at an enterprise level and understands the traditional roles of I&IT, the LOB, finance, audit, and executive decision makers in the governance standards and process. (This experience may be gained from end-to-end IT process reviews, implementing or assessing IT Governance frameworks, or performing COBIT mapping or assessments in a mid- to large-sized organization). A minimum of 5+ years in a Full time IT senior management role managing projects or programs over $30 million, reporting to the CIO in a mid- or large-sized organization supporting multiple business teams that compete for IT resources is required.

Significant experience with COBIT, ISO027002, ITIL, CMM, M3416/SAS70, or other industry frameworks and standards

Significant experience with Enterprise Architectures, Enterprise Accounting Systems, Human Resource Systems, Datawarehouse, Business Intelligence Analytics, Customer Relationship Management, E-mail and Document Management Systems, Data Centers, Cloud Computing, Digital Content Management Frameworks, Corporate Web Intranets and Portals Methodologies, tools and enablers.

Experience implementing or significantly upgrading an IT Governance framework in at least two mid- to large-sized IT organizations either in a Full time or consulting role.

Thorough understanding of complex information systems.

Executive level communications, including negotiations, consensus building, and presentations.

Demonstrated integrity while working within a professional public sector environment.

Direct experience with IT audit, risk management, and security experience.

Vendor management, with a solid understanding of both the contractual and deal construction associated with strategic and external third party relationships.

Demonstrated technical leadership in IT Governance experience essential, including teaching, mentoring, and coaching in a team environment.

Executive level communications, including negotiations, consensus and relationship-building, and presentations.

In depth knowledge of the IT industry in terms of emerging and enabling technologies.
