DESCRIPTIONThe Network Administration Analyst and Senior Voice-Video Engineering Analyst will work in a team environment and be responsible to help define and manage the integrity of the client's publication network.
Network Administration Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Maintain operational functions for communications equipment.
- Develop of proposed network designs and solutions to solve business problems.
- Provide services accurately and with a sense of urgency.
- Maintain accurate records of the network infrastructure.
- Maintain the operational stability of the network.
- Perform the defined and repeatable network assessments and health checks.
- Develop the Daily Report.
- Document work flows, methods, and processes to maintain operational excellence.
- Responsible for the monitoring of hardware in the Data Center and IDF closets.
- Provide second line help to the end users for problems associated with the network.
- Analyze and correct moderately complex network related problems.
- Analyze technical problems.
- Develop and implement moderately complex project plans.
- Coordinate the work of outside vendors to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
- Participate in on-call and off-hours support activities.
- Define and document processes to better manage the network environment.
- Prepare and submit status reports in a timely manner.
- Utilize appropriate project management methodology as required.
- Document changes to the network in accordance with established change control practices.
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) to four (4) years of equivalent experience in Network Engineering/Architecture, Network Operations or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP; typical WAN and LAN architectures; carrier interaction experience.
Must be organized and capable of multi-tasking. - Current hands-on experience with typical enterprise networking technologies from vendors such as: Cisco, Juniper, Citrix/Netscalar and Packeteer is needed.
- Proficiency in Cisco Switches and Routers, Firewalls, load balancers, packet shapers, network management tools, and network analyzers.
- Exceptional documentation skills.
- Must be customer oriented.
- Experience with IPT and server Operating Systems is desirable.
- Cisco Certification is preferred.
- Experience with both corporate and web hosting infrastructures is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Hold responsibility for the design and the operational stability of the client's voice and video solutions.
- Maintain operational functions for communications equipment.
- Develop proposed IPT and video designs and solutions to solve business problems.
- Participate in project teams with IT and Business members.
- Develop and implement complex project plans and advanced communications solutions based on a functional understanding of business operations.
- Provide and/or develop technical training to/for other support personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of the voice and video infrastructure.
- Track all work assigned.
- Complete projects based on an agreed timeline.
- Generate a weekly status report of activities, issues, and opportunities.
- Analyze business, technical and functional requirements and develop work tasks and complex project plans to meet project objectives (Independently or as part of a team).
- Lead mid-size to large projects utilizing external resources and service providers.
- Effectively communicate with business and IT leadership to ensure project success.
- Define and implement processes and technical solutions to enhance the automated monitoring.
- Identify, promote, and implement new ideas and opportunities to enhance operational stability.
- Operationally analyze and repair complex voice and video problems.
- Participate in on-call and off-hours support activities.
- Independently nurture and enhance working relationships with outside vendors and operational support groups
- Research technology and define/promote solutions to solve business problems and/or reduce costs in the area of voice and video solutions.
- Learn new communication technologies to support voice and video systems.
- Provide backup support to other IT engineers.
- Act as project leader on medium or large projects.
- Nurture effective working relationships.
- Coordinate with internal and external resources in performing duties of the position.
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) to four (4) years of equivalent experience in Network Engineering/Architecture, Network Operations or a closely related field.
- Must have over two (2. 5) years of IT technical experience and four (4) or more years of focused work in voice and video communication systems.
- Solid skills with one or more monitoring tools required.
- Advanced operational proficiency in the following: Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Unity Connections and UCCX, Polycom MCU, VoIP concepts, telecommunication concepts, and Cisco video infrastructure and endpoints along with management tools used to support voice and video.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Must be customer and results oriented.
- Strong business and technical problem solving abilities are critical.
- Demonstrated history of independently identifying and implementing complex IT solutions.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work is required.
- CCNP Voice are CCIE Voice certifications are preferred.
SKILLS
Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, typical WAN and LAN architectures, carrier interaction experience
Cisco Certification, hands-on experience with typical enterprise network, voice and video communication, Cisco Call Manager
