You will be responsible for managing a consortium of projects by performing the project management job duties of planning, scheduling, tracking, performance analysis and stakeholder reporting.
The core competencies required to perform this job are:
Ability to agree and define contractual project workscope documents, develop project schedules and use critical path activities to troubleshoot project delivery logic and derive alternative project execution proposals
MSP software proficiency for building project plans using WBS structure, milestones, activity duration and logic, resource assignments, etc.
Capable of reading and analysing project schedules to confirm project execution status, activity update analysis, activity slippage and its impact on the critical path and applying logic to recommend resource recovery actions to effectively realign the overall project
Ability to apply resources (time & material) to forecast project spend, troubleshoot resource issues (over/under allocation) and identify impact to project performance
Able to make spend recommendations based on project logic, and provide support analysis on directing project spend to optimally facilitate product delivery with where/why/and results analysis
Ability to apply and use cost data in plans to create forecasted spend metrics, perform budget analysis on forecasted vs. actual costs with cause and effect analysis and recommendations
Adept as facilitating project review meetings, preparing meeting agendas and materials to run project reviews, comfortable presenting to senior managers, with the ability to quickly and competently address audience questions
This position will require travel throughout the UK and periodic trips to the USA.
Ideally our Project Manager will have an Engineering Degree, a Business MBA, 15-20 years experience primarily in the automotive industry, some government contract management, and a solid understanding of the NPI process.
