Network Engineer
Position Description:
Client is seeking a process oriented individual with a can do attitude to work in our Planning and Design Department. Individuals submitting applications-resumes for this position must show the ability to think critically, creatively, independently and cooperatively, and be mentally flexible and agile. Potential candidates must show strong LAN/WAN/Virtualization design and engineering, technical project engineering skills, strong customer focus, and excellent analytical, problem solving, oral, telephone, written, presentation and communication skills. Prospect must have the ability to interface, partner, and influence network vendors and technology partners and must be passionate about Care Delivery and client's social mission within our communities. The individual must also be willing to travel.
This individual works directly with customers, vendors, and Strategic Partners to identify solution that meets our business use cases; create test plan, and conduct lab testing/certification using client NP&D developed process and documentation. Produce the Plain of Record (POR), High Level Design (HLD), High Level Configuration (HLC), Build of Material (BOM) and related Powerpoint presentation deck for Senior Manager and Director's review.

LAN/WAN high availability design
Quality of Service
Routing and Switching
Strong documentation - Visio, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Network/server virtualization
Functions:
Evaluate data networking product and solution
Review technical references and product release notes
Responsible for engaging Cisco sales and technical contacts
Work with data, voice and wireless network engineering, network operations to develop and execute a comprehensive and successful test plan
Responsible for design, staging, configuration and implementation of voice test environments
Perform product testing and documentation
Assess training needed for engineering and support staff
EXPERIENCE:
Successful candidate will have at least 10+ years of related IT experience in large, complex organizations, 8+ years of high-level planning and design experience. Previous experience in network services within the health care industry is desirable.
Must have extensive design and deployment experiences with VLANs/STP, OSPF, QoS, and MPLS/BGP.
Direct experience in designing and implementation of B2B, B2C, Internet/DMZ, and IPv6 technology.
Must have excellent oral and written skills. Strong documentation and presentation are critical.
Must understand Cisco Firewalls appliances and FWSM.
