Position Description:
Client Server ENVIRONMENT BUILD ENGINEER. Support pre-production & production environment builds & maintenance. Prepare and maintain environment related build documentation. Provide daily maintenance and technical support activities associated to the operations of pre-production environments (development, QA test, workflow integration, UAT, training and staging/production support). Work with internal IT organizations and/or vendor to find resolution to system failures, and provide a root cause analysis. Install and configure application software onto Windows and/or Unix Servers, monitoring file system utilization, DNS changes, scheduled job setup and manage application security for pre-production environments. Provide automated alternatives to repetitive manual processes by creating scripts for installs, job monitoring, code drops, and backup or replication jobs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years' application installation, configuration and support experience for Unix or Windows Servers, and Windows desktops. Experience in windows administration & command Scripting, and/or experience in Linux or Unix administration & Shell Scripting. Excellent analytical skills and ability to effectively communicate with clients. Ability to work through alternative solutions and ideas with multiple departments and then present findings/ideas. Strong knowledge of code migration services and the ability to implement code packaging and deployment procedures is required. Good understanding of Oracle and MS SQL RDBMS technologies is preferred.

Top 3 - 5 Daily responsibilities
Build and upgrade Claims application environments on Linux and Windows Servers.
Perform deployments of vendor software releases, patches, and internally developed code.
Coordinate environment build and software release processes across multiple technical teams. Perform troubleshooting and resolution of problems related to the application environment.
Improve efficiency of existing technical processes through automation of work (for example, writing scripts for repetitive tasks).

Experience in installing, configuring, supporting, & troubleshooting business application environments on Linux or Windows Servers.
Experience in Linux or Unix system administration, and Shell Scripting.
Experience in Windows Server system administration, and command Scripting.
Experience working with code migration processes -- packaging & deploying software changes.

Desired skills
Background in business application development, testing, or support & troubleshooting is highly desirable.
Experience working with Oracle or SQL server database, and some working knowledge of SQL queries.
Experience working with J2EE application Servers such as WebSphere/WebLogic or JBoss.
