.*This is a 6+ Month contract position*
Prestigious Professional Services Firm is looking for an ArcGIS WPF/Silverlight Developer. Candidate will be working on a Multi-tier map system using Esri technology and Navteq map data that allows users across the globe to view, edit and overlay user data on street network and satellite images from their desktop machines. Additional candidate will be helping build a proprietary analytical services that need to query the map system for best travel path between locations. Project will involve accommodating a large volume of street network edits in near Real Time, and user model requires that an edit be incorporated into network dataset and available for travel path calculations within seconds of posting.
Software Environment:
o Client applications are Windows-based, a mix of Win Form and Silverlight applications
o Arc Server 10.1
o ArcGIS WPF/Silverlight 2.4
Deliverables
Provide system architecture and system level design
Knowledge transfer to staff about Esri system
Assist with coding and testing of GIS system
Duration and Level
Expectation is that this will be a 6 to 9 month engagement
Senior Level person(s) with 20 plus years of experience that is capable of architectural, design and implementation of a large enterprise GIS system
Expertise in these technical areas:
Client Development
o Experience developing a custom client using ArcGIS WPF/Silverlight (version 2.4)
Street network editing
Mash up of street network, satellite and other user data
o Tune for performance
Backend Services and databases
o Expertise with Navteq data schema
o Using Microsoft SQL Spatial Objects within an Esri SDE (SQL Server 2008, 2012)
o Write, configure, customize and performance tune ArcGIS services
Street Feature queries
Street edit Versioning
Edit workflow: reconcile, post, replicate and (street network) rebuild
Geo-area Extraction
Analysis (best travel path) queries
o Scaling and load balancing Esri ArcGIS services (SOM/SOC architecture)
o Configuring map image tiles and street feature query caching
o Detailing understand of database tables involved with versioning, Esri replication and street network rebuilding
o Registration of proprietary points of interest (snapping POI to street map segments)
o Setting up services and databases for high availability and disaster recovery
