Overview:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, require the services of a risk specialist to deliver work on their RDR project. RDR is part of the FSAs overarching objective to provide greater consumer confidence and transparency for the sale of investment products.

Core duties of the role:

An experienced risk professional is required to support the Retail RDR programme. This role will:

  • Support to the programme to ensure that the regulatory requirements are met and a complaint solution developed
  • Provide challenge to the work streams to ensure that a consumer centric proposition is developed and that there is no consumer detriment to existing or future customers
  • Provide risk sign-off to project documentation as a the Risk SME
  • Provide 1st line assurance to senior stakeholders
  • Work effectively and collaboratively as a key member of the risk team supporting the RDR programme

Core skills and experience required:

Key skills for the role are as follows -

  • Risk experience with ability to provide business analyst skills
  • Excellent understanding of the Bancassurance model and investment market
  • Excellent understanding of the FSA Handbook and RDR requirements
  • Ability to gather and manage business requirements
  • Good communicator both oral and written
  • Good planning and organisation skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to use own initiative and takes personal responsibility for own work load and management
  • Ability to manage difficult and diverse stakeholders

Desirable Skills

  • Excellent understanding of the FSA Handbook and RDR requirements
