*High Visibility American Company seeks Control Systems Expert*

The SCADA Systems Support Specialist will provide first-level technical support for industrial (SCADA) control systems in a mixed Windows Server environment running primarily on HP Proliant hardware and custom tailored customer networks. From an administrative perspective, the incumbent will perform standard tasks including user account maintenance, server patching, and software installation of both standard applications and proprietary software. Server replacement, or full cabinet racking, may also be required based on customer-ordered change and upgrade projects. The candidate will report project work on a regular basis using internal team tracking tools, comprised of both an internal ticketing system and collaborative documents, where applicable. As our client has in-house 24/7 remote operations monitoring, it will be required to provide after-hours break-fix support of client projects, primarily on a remote basis with the occasional need to travel. Communication with various entities within the organization, including CRMs, account managers, remote site personnel, engineering/project and commissioning leads, and also, with the end-user (customers) will be vital in providing top tier service to our client.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Windows Server , 2000/XP Embedded
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN topologies, TCP/IP
  • SQL Server 2005 and higher
  • Server hardware - troubleshooting, assembly, HP Proliant, iLO, BIOS/Firmware, SNMP services
  • Ability to grasp the complexity of a Fortune 50 Matrix and successfully adhere to corporate IT policies with regard to security policies
  • Solid infrastructure familiarity with networking and server integrations
  • Ability to provide Real Time support of patching Servers in a challenging environment
  • Experience using collaboration tools and ticketing system for tracking incidents
  • Time management skills and self-motivation
  • Understanding of processes and importance of standard operating procedures
  • Ability to consistently take ownership over issues; take lead, manage, diffuse, and resolve
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Must present professionally with demeanor and appearance

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Certifications; A+ (hardware), MCP/MCSE, CCNA, Network+, DBA, other
  • Knowledge of Bachmann, PLC, NTRON and Hirschmann (HiDiscovery/HiVision)
  • Post-Secondary (college/university) degree
  • Multilingual (Portuguese, French or German)
  • Previous experience in SCADA/Industrial Controls, Renewable Energy environments an asset
