IT Project Manager
A Multinational Financial Services company seek to hire an IT Project Manager. This is a very lucrative daily-rate opportunity, and a chance to work with the one of the leading IT groups in the world. This position will be an overall project manager, to manage end to end software development. The role will ensure resources are planned appropriately, interdependencies are managed across projects and systems, all deliverables are tracked and delivered with quality, and the final product meets the true business need. Team size is more than 50, with a 20% onshore presence. 4 major releases per year. 12+ year's relevant experience, financial services experience preferred. Java/J2EE technologies, Core Java, J2EE, XML, Hibernate, Swing, JSP. Excellent project planning skills, risk and issue management with strong estimation skills. Experience working with all phases, demonstrated knowledge of various SDLC and AGILE models.
Key Responsibilities.
Timely delivery of all phases of the project from project initiation to post implementation. Create, review and maintain detailed project plans with all relevant parties involved. Proactively monitor overall project progress, resolving risks and issues and initiating corrective action plans as appropriate. Central point of liaison and coordination with all stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. Work with internal groups and where appropriate, external vendors to ensure infrastructure and processes are in place to support the business through a successful migration, market launch and full life cycle. Facilitation of code reviews and extensive knowledge of code review tools. Production Deployment Plan creation and execution. To provide regular communication to management and the project stakeholders of project status, including risks & issues and mitigations.
Knowledge/Experience
Delivering large and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders across different geographical locations. Knowledge of the financial industry in relation to Bank Account maintenance is preferred. Project management experience of similar sized projects. Development and project management experience. Understanding of risk/resource management. Experience in offshore vendor management.
