Description
Our client has a requirement for a Windows Systems Engineer to join their team in Paris. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience of Windows Server design, documentation and review. You will also have project management and management reporting experience.
Main responsibility:
Contribution to the validation of technical designs and the Test and Launch scenario's in the context of IT initiatives, ranging from large strategic programmes to smaller projects. This is NOT a production support role.
You will assume responsibility for:
Research and build strategy;
Document definition and improvement
Implementation validation
Supporting documentation, procedures and contracts
Monitoring (alerting, performance, capacity).
Collaborating with the Technical Domain Owner for the Windows domain in providing guidance and support within the assigned area (of product ownership).
Performing technical prototyping for new (and new versions of) products and technologies.
3rd Line production support (including on-call watch-duty outside normal business hours: approximately 7 weeks/year).
You will have:
3 to 5 years of IT experience (at least 2 in an IT Systems Engineering environment)
You will be able to speak in French
Profound knowledge in the following areas:
Windows Server operating systems
Directory Services MS Active Directory (Security structure, GPOs, ADAM..)
IP Networking: DNS, WINS, DHCP
File and Print services
Various: Software distribution,
Antivirus (MacAfee),
Backup (Tivoli Storage Manager),
Scripting (Powershell, VBS, Perl),
Remote control,
Computer Hardware (Rackable, Blades, management tooling): HP, IBM, Dell, FSC
Knowledge in the following areas is a benefit: - EMC Storage - HP Storage - Virtualisation (VMWare, MS HyperV) - Monitoring (NetIQ)
This role is based in Paris and candidates must be prepared to be available all day on Monday and Friday.
