Role Description:

The Senior Project Manager and responsibilities include:

• Under the direction of the Director, Governance and Processes run the high priority ITSM Project, involving two streams of work: ITSM framework roadmap and process definition, and tool selection and implementation
• Managing day to day operational aspects of the project to ensure adherence to scope, conferring with project staff to outline the work breakdown schedule, assigning duties, responsibilities and scope of authority, directing and coordinating activities of project personnel, modifying schedules or plans as required and effectively applying and enforcing acceptable project methodology.
• Managing all project deliverables, goals and milestones including reviewing and signing off on all IT documentation. Providing project life cycle best practices.
• Managing conflict within IT project teams including taking a leadership role in mentoring other team members in project management best practices.
• Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, operational staff, consultants and management at various levels to be aware of issues that impact on the project, manage expectations, elicit their support and co-operation.
• Develop and administer project budget within approved budget and report on variances from approved plan as required

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate or equivalent
• At least 5 years experience of IT Project Management
• ITIL experience and a strong working knowledge of the full project management life cycle
• Project management skills with a solid understanding of project management methodologies in order to effectively manage the two streams of the ITSM project: enhancement of our Service Management Framework, and the ITIL Tool selection and implementation stream. This includes budget, develop project schedules, identify resource requirements, establish deadlines, provide advice and direction to external resources, track project schedules and provide status reports
• Leadership skills in order to supervise and provide technical support to project team, working groups, and manage the concurrent streams.
• Project portfolio experience including the assessment of overall project risks, project integration management, time management, quality management and cost management
• Decision making skills to make independent decisions and recommendations on various issues an solutions that impact the project
• Influential skills include conflict management, negotiation and facilitation skills to act as a consultant in various forms to resolve issues, diffuse conflicts and handle escalated sensitive issues from team members and to alert project sponsors as appropriate
• At Communication, presentation and writing skills to prepare Steering Committee reporting, concise summaries, etc.
• Must Have Good Communication Skills
• Candidate must be able to work independently and as a part of a team with minimal supervision
