Description

Purpose:

To ensure that the trading with and marketing for our client's businesses is conducted according to the Group's Credit Risk Management Policy

Manage and control credit risk mitigation activities within metals business

Core Accountabilities

  • Monitor and review credit lines of new and existing customers
  • Advise Marketing Managers on companies' credit worthiness prior to contract establishment
  • Write credit limit recommendations for approval
  • Provide trade finance advice to marketing and distribution including documentary credits and discounting facilities
  • Identify and research company information from multiple sources (including rating agencies, Reuters/Bloomberg, marketing contacts, Internet)
  • Monitor and analyse credit exposure of individual customers and on a portfolio basis
  • Actively implement & comply with the Group's Credit Risk Management Policy
  • Notify, investigate and report breaches of the Group's Credit Risk Management Policy
  • Authorise, where necessary, the logistics team's deliveries of material to customers
  • Create and disseminate credit management reports (cash flow forecast for Group Treasury, breach reporting, credit information report)
  • Maintain and develop relationships with internal customers (marketeers, logistics)
  • Maintain relationships with key advisory banks and credit insurance companies
  • Maintain relationships with Group Credit, other TMU credit teams and LME Finance
  • Maintain MSAP customer database
  • Help further develop credit risk management tools (portfolio management, default risk models etc.)

Technical Competencies

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in business economics, finance or similar
  • Preferably 5 years of financial experience with specific exposure to credit risk management. Candidates with less experience are also welcomed to respond
  • Computer literacy: MS Office
  • Not required but highly recommended - SAP R3 applications and Business Warehouse
  • Not required but highly recommended - experience with Reuters
  • Fluency in English

For the first 4 or 5 months the work will be performed in the Netherlands, after that the duties will be performed in London.
