Under the direction of the Development Release Manager, work with application development teams - potentially across a range of projects - to manage one or more application development environments in a predominantly JEE environment.

The overall responsibilities of the Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) Release Integrator/Builder will include:

  • Performing development and test environment server administration and configuration at operating system (Unix) and Application Server (Weblogic 8.1, Weblogic 10.3 and JBoss) levels;
  • Performing source code management operations using IP Australia's Version Control Tool (Subversion) ensuring adherence to IPA code management policies;
  • Building development and test environments as specified by project environment requirements using IP Australia tools;
  • Analysing and resolving software configuration issues in environments you are responsible for;
  • Providing software configuration support for development and test environments configured with SOA components;
  • Building milestone releases, including all relevant documentation, and managing distribution and deployment to pre-Production and production environments in accordance with corporate Change Management processes; and
  • Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with Configuration Management Plans, Policies and/or Standards for all of the above responsibilities.

Selection Criteria

Mandatory:

  • Substantial, demonstrated experience building, integrating and deploying application software in a Unix-based JEE/Relational Database environment.
  • Experience with the management of, and the ability to determine policy on, configuration items in an application development environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Iterative methodologies.
  • Experience with Oracle Weblogic Application Server.
  • Strong UNIX Scripting capabilities

Highly Desirable:

Experience with:

  • Oracle RDBMS/SQL
  • TIBCO Active Matrix
  • Continuous Integration Tools (such as Hudson and Maven)
  • Apache Subversion
  • Incanica Tableaux
  • Objective EDMS
  • Experience with intellectual property business domain.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
  • Experience with Agile and/or Iterative methodologies
