PLC Partners require an IT Development Manager for a 12 month contract with Banking/Financial Service experience for our Client.

The IT development manager will be responsible for a team of application support and development personnel, and will be responsible for the operations and achievements of this team, by ensuring that the goals set by the Senior Management Team are achieved in themost cost efficient and effective manner.

Key Skills: To be considered for the role, applicants should process the following experience and skillsets:

  • Degree in Computer Science or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field; (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience working as an IT Applications Manager or IT Development Manager in financial services organisations or equivalent, managing systems analysts, computer support specialists, programmers, or other information technology professionals
  • Experience in leading and/or managing development teams across concurrent projects to successful results
  • Extensive experience in complex computer systems specification and development, including programming Languages (Delphi 7 and .NET), core production system databases (Oracle 10g or higher, Ingres HPUX Version II 2.6 or equivalent) and strong knowledge of Business Objects xir2, SQL, MS Vista, MS Office etc)
  • Hands-on approach to specification, development and testing
  • Demonstrate a track record for solution delivery and cost reduction
  • 4+ years experience leading and coaching IT development and application support personnel, 4+ years experience managing project schedules
  • 10+ years experience in IT development in medium to large sized organisations in the operation and maintenance of computer hardware and software systems, development and analysis of information systems and applications, and delivery of end user services and products.
  • Previous experience with project management methodologies (PRINCE 2 or equivalent)
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and credibility between the technology development function and business units.
  • Ability to manage systems development scope and changes in the context of the business environment
  • Possess a good understanding of working with the business to align IT solutions with business needs
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to relate well with all levels of staff and management as well as stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, consulting and coaching skills.
