Description
Contract Project Engineer at General Electric Lighting and Industrial located in East Cleveland. Primary scope of this role is cost out through qualification of lower cost sourced parts and materials for use in lighting products.
-- Lead three to six projects which many encompass a wide range of engineering disciplines. Example areas: ceramics, resistors, plastic parts, phosphors, wire, metal plating, molded glass parts, or stamped metal parts.
-- Participate in weekly calls with off shore sourcing/engineering teams, document action items and maintain project tracking sheet.
-- Interface with plant engineers, quality managers, and technology personnel and supervise test and pilot runs of material. Some travel to the plants in Ohio may be required.
-- Participate in plant cost out idea generation meetings and help develop additional cost out project ideas and aid in scoping out new projects.
-- Support Sourcing team with supplier set in financial systems and compiling monthly reports on products purchased.
