This large and highly prestigious Federal Government Department is looking to appoint a Mainframe Cool: Gen Developer to join their existing IT Department for an initial 12 month contract from start date. This role will allow the successful incumbent to take an important part in development and maintenance of a complex financial system.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Working on development tasks using Cool: Gen coding
- Part taking in the design of the business intitative by producing low level design documents
- Undertake necessary code reviews
- Create and execute unit test cases, functional test cases and integration testing
- Provide documentation on the technicality of existing procedures and new ones as they are developed
To be considered for this great opportunity the successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience in developing software in CA Gen environment
- Knowledge and experience of coding in TELON/Cobol programming language
- Proven ability in developing and maintaining complex systems in a large Mainframe environment
- Experience in resolving Mainframe system problems
- Experience with DB2 in providing database integration etc
- Knowledge and experience in SAS is desirable but not essential.
On offer to the successful applicant will be an initial 12 month contract with a 1X12month extension on offer. Rates will be determined by skills and experience working on similar projects or environments.
