Description
Leading Global Solutions Provider has an immediate requirement for a Commvault Backup Administrator for a contract role based in Dublin.You will be responsible for daily administration and future expansion of an existing CommVault version 8.0 installation. You will be required to manage appropriate backup data agents for MS Windows, Linux and Virtual Systems in addition to Application Agents for MS Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Oracle as needed.
Functional CommVault Administrator skills and recent relevant experience are essential. Knowledge of other backup solutions such as HP Data Protector, Symantec Backup Exec and Quest vRanger would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify problems within the enterprise backup and recovery environment on various platforms and engage the appropriate technical resources for resolution in a timely manner
Provide documented, consistent and repeatable backup, recovery, and archival procedures.
Develop and implement business continuity practices for storage management.
Monitos the use and availability of storage resources.
Maintain and modify backup and recovery procedures to meet high availability and mission critical business needs.
Generate periodic reports to review, analyse, and discuss CommVault utilisation with management and peers.
Contribute to technical architecture discussions to determine the most appropriate scalable model taking into consideration high availability failover and disaster recovery.
Serve as a subject matter expert to application development, systems administration and other technical/business staff in planning the resource requirements for systems under development
