Position: Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician (Fixed term contract)
Location: York
Salary: approximately £34k

ROLE:
The Maintenance Technician will maintain reliable operation of the plant, by carrying out multi-skilled maintenance tasks. The work involves a range of preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance, and requires pro-activity to propose improvements in maintenance methods and techniques which maintain and raise standards of quality, safety and hygiene. The role works closely with the Process Operating Technicians, so good communication skills are required to ensure that daily goals are achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Perform full range of plant maintenance tasks and repairs, on a planned or reactive basis.
b) Use predictive maintenance techniques such as thermographic imaging and vibration analysis as well as experience, skill and judgement to make regular assessments of the plant condition.
c) Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System to log faults and report potential problem areas, extract fault information, generate work orders and log completed work.
d) Ensure diagnostic troubleshooting of plant is carried as required.
e) Propose equipment reliability improvements and help develop new maintenance work-flow methods and techniques.
f) To provide a guaranteed call out cover for plant breakdowns.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Candidates must have ONC/HNC Engineering discipline.
b) Post apprenticeship experience working in a manufacturing environment.
c) Relevant experience of contributing to a working environment where the highest safety standards are met.
d) A basic understanding of predictive maintenance techniques, vibration analysis, thermography and ultrasound.
e) Excellent technical, analytical and fault finding skills are essential.
f) Demonstrable experience of working within defined processes and procedures, but knowing when to be pro-active.
g) Effective communication skills.
h) To be demonstrably self-motivated and flexible.
i) Candidates must be PC literate.
