- System Administrator (SAP Business Objects)
-Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups to assist with disaster recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. 
 Advanced Systems Administrator capabilities with 9 or more years of experience*.
 These consultants are recognized as top professionals in their chosen field. Considered "Guru" subject-matter experts in IT Professional Services. Individuals possess multiple years of operating system experience and are extremely competent in: complicated, specific, and unique software applications and system configuration; will typically hold advanced education degrees or certifications such as, but not limited to, a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)..These advanced degrees and certifications may substitute for 0-6 years of experience at this skill set level, and for this skill set level only.  They have worked on multiple critical projects, have demonstrated the judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of complicated tasks, and may lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Project Description:
-The current BusinessObjects enterprise production iteration consists of a single production server and a single test server. No development environment exists. With the current use of the system expanding rapidly, plus the potential addition of several program groups (OVRS, Portland Public Health, AMH, WIC, expansion of use by HR), this system is considerably undersized. The existing BusinessObjects environment does not follow industry or manufacturer's best practices.
-DHS and OHA Directors have expressed a priority in better utilizing the DATA in their respective organizations. To support that business concept, the BusinessObjects Reporting and Business Intelligence platform has been designated as an enterprise level report generation and Business Intelligence suite.
-The goal of the BusinessObjects upgrade is to provide the enterprise with a robust system that will handle all program group reporting needs, provide redundancy and fault-tolerance, and is sized appropriately for the work to come in this biennium. With the goal of being the reporting tool of choice for the enterprise, the BusinessObjects system will be highly available and easily scalable.

Successful implementation will allow us to achieve the following objectives:
- Utilize the new features of the 4.0 platform, such as multi-universe reporting, support for mobile devices, and integrated Lifecycle Management.
- Implement high availability by spreading services across multiple Servers, which will reduce downtime and increase reliability in delivering time-critical information.
- Utilize data cleansing to assure the accuracy of the information being delivered.
- Expand capacity and create the base for an easily scalable system for the future.

Experience Required:
- Must include experience with SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.0 in a clustered, load balanced, split web tier implementation/environment.
- Experience must include implementing SAP BusinessObjects to use SSL.
- Must include experience with SAP BusinessObjects Data Services 4.0 installation and configuration
- Experience must have been in a primary role for the implementation and configuration.
- Prior experience administering SAP BusinessObjects 3.x preferred.

Tasks expected to be completed:
- Work with in house System Architect to resolve SSL issues on all Servers within the Business Objects 4.0 environment.
- Work with in house System Architect to install and configure Data Services 4.0, including transferring knowledge verbally and in writing.
- Review SAP Business Objects configurations on all Servers and make recommendations for optimization in written report.
- Review security plan implementation against best practices and provide gap analysis in a written report.
- Review and make recommendations and document the a process for migrating Universes from our Business Objects 3.x environment to the new Business Objects 4.x environment.  (This task expected to be completed with LifeCycle Manager)
- Electronically, provide a written description of work completed, to project manager, each work week by 5pm on Thursday.

Qualifications:
Apache: Expert: 1-2 years 
Business Objects XI: Expert: 6 months - 1 year 
Tomcat: Expert: 1-2 years
