Description
We require a UNIX/VMware Administrator to bepart of a dynamic, fast paced and challenging UNIX Team featuring a variety of the Latest technology in the industry. In this position you aid in the day-to-day Support of a versatile UNIX environment. Primary scope is Red hat Linux with VMware but AIX, and Solaris Skills is highly beneficial, or desire to learn.
Job Requirements
- Configure and access various consoles directly, remotely with ssh, and with virt-manager.
- Configure privilege escalation with sudo. Knowledge of Red hat Enterprise 4 and 5 Knowledge of SOLARIS 10 Manage software on system using yum, Red Hat Network, and rpm.
- Configure and manage system logging, time synchronization, printers, and task automation. Define boot process, recover system, and manage service startup.
- Explore Kernel modules and variants, tune Kernel parameters, manage devices, and monitor processes and resources.
- Manage file systems using Software RAID and recover an array. Perform automated installations of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting methodologies. VERITAS Volume Manager Package VERITAS Cluster Suite 5.X and 6.x Shell Scripting ( CSH,Ksh, BASH, ) Team Oriented VMWARE ESX AND ESXI 3.5 and 4.x ITIL Foundation knowledge Knowledge of Netbackup and TSM
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree
- Certifications in UNIX/Linux and VMware will be highly regarded
