Description
Our client is the world leader in software seeking an Engineer to take over the day-to-day operations of one of their online services with a significant number of active users. This candidate will be responsible for everything from customer support to Back End Servers and should be able to work very autonomously. If you have a wide breadth of software development/debugging experience and strong knowledge of Windows Azure, you should contact us immediately!
OVERVIEW:
- Review customer questions posted to the blog and answer them.
- Investigate reported problems by review of service logs, database content, etc.
- Review Back End service logs to identify problems bugs and help fix them.
- Monitor service performance and alert the team of any issues.
- Make new product builds and deploy them to Azure.
- Test new features/fixes in test environments.
- Maintain public face of the service: fan page on Facebook, featured items, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 plus of work related experience required
- Cloud technologies including Azure skills and experience required
- Experience with: C#, JQuery, ASP/MVC
- Knowledge of Facebook API a big plus
- Software engineering process expertise required
- Strong understanding of global business/functional areas
- Must have excellent debugging skills to proactively identify issues and coordinate resolutions
- Advanced knowledge of technology in multiple areas: C#, JavaScript, ASP, SQL, etc.
- Experience with security implementation desired
- Strong communication skills to handle customer issues and post answers to the product blog
- Ability to handle the occasional crisis situation
- Some afterhours work may be needed when service must be restored
- Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
This contract position is expected to be six months in duration with possibility of extension.
