Strong Operations Data Center Technician required for a contract opportunity with a large, high-visibility financial corporation. This candidate will analyze, evaluate and provide onsite diagnostic help to technical problems, under the guidance of higher level resources. The Operations Technician will also provide scheduled Installation, Move, Addition, Change, and Disposal support for data center equipment. The work may involve implementing new technologies and procedures and integration and configuration work and/or responding to client problems.

OVERVIEW:

  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals
  • Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems
  • Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups
  • Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed
  • Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Completes tasks in line with company technical and quality standards and procedures
  • Provides a high degree of customer satisfaction
  • May lead and direct the work of others
  • Typically reports to a project leader or manager
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude expected

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Expertise with a variety of tech support concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Minimum 3 years data center support services
  • Good understanding of data center network, server, and storage infrastructure hardware and software sufficient to perform required tasks
  • Familiarity with cabling infrastructure
  • Customer support skills
  • Net+, A+, OEM server certification or equivalent experience required
  • Working knowledge of Remedy call center ticket system
  • Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills
  • May require an Associate's Degree or equivalent
