Description

Role: Information Risk (Data Leakage Specialist)

Skills: Information Risk/Security - Vontu - MI

Overview:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, require the expertise of an Information Security professional to identify risks, apply policy appropriately and produce MI.

Core duties of the role:

Information, whether our own or that entrusted into our care by clients, customers, staff or business partners, is a valuable asset and essential to our business. Our client is committed to protecting all of the information it uses or stores in accordance with its value, sensitivity and the risks to which it is exposed, and in a manner consistent with all legal, regulatory and contractual arrangements. This applies to all information, whether in electronic form, on paper, or in other forms.

  • Identify and assess key IRM risks and issues across Barclays clusters, Business Units and Functions.
  • Collaborate with Group IRM and business unit IRM's and agree how to apply policy into the constituent parts of Business Units and functions
  • Work with areas of Business Units and Functions to agree MI reporting requirements, and produce reports and analysis for data leakage based on the MI received
  • Run a risk based assurance programme to monitor compliance against policy, including specific tests as required by the Principle Risks Policy
  • Act as a point of reference for IRM related data leakage queries from Business Units

In addition to these processes, it is likely that the role will be required to:

  • Understand and develop the links between appropriate Technology teams and the Group IRM function and business unit IRM's dealing with data leakage
  • Actively manage key IRM stakeholders in particular the network of senior managers responsible for IRM. Effective communications and interpersonal skills will enhance the perceived value and reputation of IRM, and make it easier to achieve its objectives in the future.
  • Act as a point of reference for queries and provide guidance.
  • Plan and run a risk-based assurance programme which monitors compliance versus policies and standards and drives closure of gaps.
  • Steer and guide data leakage projects and activities within Business Units to fix critical IRM issues. Support (but not directly own) business case development.

Core skills and experience required:

Essential:
  • Highly experienced with Vontu as a tool for taking business action, rather than only a technical perspective.
  • Experience in identifying information risk issues/concerns at a divisional level and coordinating efforts across the teams.
  • A practical knowledge of legal and data protection issues relating to IRM would be an advantage along with an awareness of policy implementation and monitoring
Preferred: Experience of working in a large bank or financial organisation would be beneficial.
