POSITION OVERVIEW

You will be required to deliver a proactive "consultancy" style service in collaboration with other members of the team. Initially this will involve the analysis of regulatory developments.
This work will involve other members of the team to engage with appropriate business partners to help interpret and consider detailed changes to business processes required as part of the regulatory change. The role may include any of the aspects of the principal responsibilities listed below.

The role holder will report to the Head of UK Asset Servicing Compliance and be part of a 4 person team.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Keeping up to date with existing/new regulatory developments, with responsibility for communicating change to the business
- Assisting with the identification, measurement and management of compliance risk matters as it relates to the business unit's existing business and planned strategic or operational changes.
- Assist with the development of regulatory training to Northern Trust partners
- Assist with the management of examination visits by NT's UK and US regulators
- Promoting a positive compliance culture through communication and oversight of regulatory responsibilities at all levels.
- Detecting/advising local management of potential compliance problems and recommending changes/enhancements. Contributing to the development/updating of policies, procedures and business practices where these relate to compliance initiatives.
- Devise and produce periodic Management Information (KPIs/KRIs) where applicable
- Building effective internal and external networks that ensure awareness and application of best practice across the organisation.
- Assist with the managing and/or participating of client due diligence on site visits.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

- Proven compliance experience within a Financial Services organisation
- Highly motivated individual with a proven record of problem solving and delivering effective solutions
- Ability to make and communicate decisions in a clear effective manner
- Desire to stay ahead of regulatory developments
- Strong numeric, and excellent written/oral communication skills
- Strong time management skills, the ability to balance on-going job requirements with ad-hoc projects, and a flexible approach to adapting to a fast-changing business environment
- Collaborative and consensual approach to work
- Good knowledge of FSA rules relating to custody and fund administration
- Degree preferred
