Description
Our client is a hugely popular computer components brand seeking a candidate to perform validation testing following written test procedures and verbal instructions and supporting data collection to assist in the determination of the cause of validation failures.
OVERVIEW:
- Building and configuring Windows based operating system (OS), system (BIOSs) with a variety of common peripherals including memory, PCI cards and USB devices, and multimedia software and/or hardware
- Creating Ghost images of various installations
- Installing client and third party software
- Running a variety of manual testing, including the latest benchmark applications
- Providing feedback and quick information turns on resolved defects and latest test status
- Supporting additional ad-hoc testing as needed based on engineering code drop
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years' experience as an Engineering Tech
- Ability to use power meter and Data Acquisition Unit to measure system power while running applications
- Ability to clearly document system configurations, settings for each test and capture the results in Microsoft Excel
- Logical system debug and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in creating and/or modifying tests and test documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Experience with Microsoft SDK's, PC benchmarks, and/or diagnostic utilities a plus
- Previous software or hardware validation experience preferred
