We are framework contractor of a multinational organisation in The Hague/Netherlands and require a a highly skilled WebSphere Portal engineer.
This English speaking organisation is very much open to international candidates, ideally with EU Passports or a valid work permit for The Netherlands.

The successful applicant will have at least 3 years experience as WebSphere Portal engineer and will feel comfortable in this environment:

GROUP
The Unix Application department is responsible for the middle-tier application & Middleware infrastructure, hosted on a large number of AIX/Linux IBM System p and x Servers.
The applications are mostly Java based web applications running in JBoss Application Server, WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Portal.

Deliverables - Services:
The services to be provided consist of assisting in the design, planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of the application infrastructure; providing engineering support to new application projects, as well as level 3 support to applications in production; support of the HTTP server infrastructure, CMS, security & certificates, monitoring, and performance testing.

The main Service Deliverable encompasses:
lead support for WebSphere Portal and WCM (web content management)


Additional duties will include:
support of application developers regarding architecture, implementation, and deployment of new applications
verification and sign-off of new applications according to the EPO standards
level 3 support for problems in production applications
maintain and improve the new JBoss Application and JBoss Portal production infrastructures on a Linux/Intel platform
support the Operational Systems Acceptance Testing team especially regarding performance testing
support the Wiki and Issue tracking systems
Some of the tasks must be performed during the off-line hours, ie after 19:00 in the week or during weekends. Readiness to work at such times is necessary.

Required skills

as many of the following highly desirable skills as possible:
excellent knowledge of WebSphere Portal technologies
excellent knowledge of J2EE applications (WebSphere and JBoss) and Java (at least 5 years experience expected)
excellent knowledge of Apache web server technology
good knowledge of Java security and Kerberos/SPNEGO as well as certificate administration
good knowledge of Scripting in a UNIX environment
good experience of monitoring tools and application performance testing
excellent working knowledge of English
team worker being able to work independently and be pro-active.
an understanding of the necessity of a well functioning change management system
ability to work in a multicultural international organisation

Additional Skills
in addition, knowledge in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
Wiki systems (Confluence)
Issue tracking systems (JIRA)
LDAP administration
